"Share a story, open a mind and touch a heart." This simple phrase represents the mission and vision statement for Wright Clarkson, StoryGuy. His highly active and interactive peformances involve rich visual and musical accompanyment. He uses call and response, movement and puppets (for very young) to engage, educate and entertain his audiences. When asked how long he’s been a storyteller, Wright often replies with a smile, "My family would say all my life ... but that’s another story." His true inspiration came from his grandmother, who believed in the power of imagination to create one’s own entertainment and lived to be ’104’, advised him "to always follow his own path." Wright has been journeying along that same road for the past ten years professionally and can’t wait for the next storytelling opportunity along his way. Typical of comments often heard following one of the StoryGuy’s performances, artist residencies, or educational and motivational training sessions are: "...left me feeling like I had been somehow imaginarily transported to another time and place..." or "...re-energized my artistic nature and inner child..." or "...his program empowered my students to own their learning experience..." or "...that story guy used music and story to enhance the curriculum in a fun and engaging manner..." or "...offered me creative alternatives to improve morale and productivity in the office..." Contact him now for your next artist-in- residence program, community and/or corporate event, festival, funraiser, motivational and training seminar, school assembly and/or teacher workshop for a truly memorable experience.
