If you can’t shout, talk. If you can’t talk, whisper.

If you can’t whisper sing. But whatever you do, keep on telling your story …

and listening to others

Since there were circles people have gathered to share their stories. Stories are the way we pass on our traditions, values, and histories. The old ones tell stories to the young ones to teach. We tell stories to help us to learn and to think; to remember and to celebrate; and to laugh and to heal and forgive. There is a place in the circle just waiting for each of us.

Rocci is a husband, father, social worker, artist, peace and justice activist, and a professional storyteller and speaker. He lives in Wenatchee, Washington with his wife and daughter.

Rocci has performed and led workshops at storytelling and folk music festivals, camps, schools, Churches and his own living room and back yard. Rocci’s latest recording is Absolutely True Stories: Some Of Which May Actually Have Happened.

Telling
I was a storylistener ... Time happened and I became a collector, a harvester of stories … Time happened again and I discovered that I am a storyteller. Stories travel in great circles from every where and every time and so I remain a listener and collector of stories. There are stories just waiting to be told and to be heard. People are waiting, even though they might not know it yet, to hear their story; to remember and celebrate; or to laugh and heal.

I have a growing collection of folk and original stories that have come to me as gifts from many different places and times and people. One of them is the story for which you have been waiting.

I have one recording, "Absolutely True Stories, Some Of Which May Actually Have Happened," which was recorded live at a coffeehouse performance.
