Mike Lockett, The Normal Storyteller, is a teller of traditional tales in a non-traditional manner. Lockett lives in NORMAL, Illinois, but travels all across the USA and has traveled as far away as Taiwan sharing his stories. He gives programs at schools, libraries, churches, festivals and for organizations of all kinds. He is known for his audience participation stories, and his use of dialects and animal imitations in his stories. Dr. Lockett is a 33 year veteran educator in addition to being a professional storyteller. He often delivers messages about how to use storytelling in the classroom to improve student achievement and talks to parent groups about helping their children in school.Mike has produced four storytelling CDs and has won five national awards for his recordings.
