Fluent in four languages, Joyce is well known as a multicultural storyteller with a profound appreciation of traditional folktales. As an experienced educator and accomplished speaker, however, she shares a wide range of genres, from family stories set in northern Florida to historical accounts from Arizona all the way to Russia and Poland. Joyce has been telling stories for over twenty years and teaches a college course in the art of storytelling. Her many interests and experiences make it possible for her to meet a wide variety of listener needs.

Education
--B.A. degree in French from Florida State University
--M.A. degree in Russian Literature and Slavic Linguistics from Indiana University
--Ph.D. degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Indiana University Slavic linguistics
--Advanced Study of Spanish Language and Literature at Arizona State University and la Universidad de Costa Rica
--Storytelling courses at Arizona State University and South Mountain Community College

Travel and Study Abroad
Joyce has had extensive living experience in the following countries: Russia, Poland, Spain, France, and Costa Rica. In addition, she has participated in seminars and study in China, Bulgaria, Ecuador and Ireland.
