Want your students to grow as listeners and authentic storytellers?
Want your students to connect emotionally with the curriculum? Want to build community in your classroom?

Cathie Kernaghan has been passionate about oral storytelling since joining the Alberta League Encouraging Storytelling (TALES) in 1998. She has become a seasoned teller through sharing the oral tradition of storytelling with audiences of all ages. A teacher by profession, she has joined other storytellers in creating events which include Storycafes and Storytelling Festivals within Alberta. Feeling grateful for the storytelling communities she has been a part of for some time, Cathie is an active member on the executive of TALES Calgary and is the Alberta Representative for the wider guild of performing storytellers: Storytellers of Canada/Raconteurs du Canada (SC-CC). Cathie is in the process of expanding her experience of oral storytelling by offering to professionally mentor others in developing their storytelling voice. She is particularly interested in working with elementary-aged students and their teachers. Cathie has a wide repertoire of stories to offer this experietial process of learning.
