Who is CARPATHIAN?
Carpathian, the gentle wandering spirit is a professional actor and storyteller who has appeared at numerous venues, film festivals, Renaissance Faires, haunted attractions, libraries and conventions throughout the United States, including I-CON on Long Island NY, NETHERWORLD Haunted House in Atlanta GA, and MONSTER BASH outside Pittsburgh PA. He was also a recurring presence for ten years at The Six Flags America FRIGHT FEST in Largo, MD, leading his company -The Patient Creatures.
Carpathian is completely family-friendly, and firmly in the classic Halloween tradition. Although he may appear initially spooky to the younger set, he is soothing, soft-spoken, and has won over countless score of children, young adults and parents. His stories run the gamut from classic campfire tales and spooky shaggy-dog stories to macabre fables and urban legends. He is equally at home before a mixed family audience, a midnight crowd of adult enthusiasts, or a gaggle of giggling children.
In 2003 Carpathian was nominated for a Rondo Hatton Award for Special Presentation, which includes themed film festivals, dramatic readings and performances, and restored film screenings, among other events. With only six nominations each year out of literally thousands of conventions held world-wide, Carpathian’s Storytelling was recognized for excellence. He has also been nominated by the Horror Writers Association in 2002 for Outstanding Media Presentation for his CD 3 TALES OF CARPATHIAN. He is currently a member of the North Coast Storytellers, and wanders primarily among the shivery, rocky shores, deep spooky forests, and dark, mysterious streets of Humboldt County, CA. Carpathian’s Booking Agent is BOB BEIDEMAN, actor, musician, filmmaker and author, who has appeared in Godspell, The Miracle Worker and Inherit the Wind and has directed A Midsummer Nights Dream, A Christmas Carol and Emmanuel ,his own original folk/rock opera.
