Storyteller.net presents local and national storytellers for the Tellabration, the national night of storytelling, at the Borders Store at 10100 W McDowell Road in Avondale, Arizona. The evening begins at 7:00PM and there is no charge.
Avondale, AZ November 1, 2006- Avondale, Arizona based Storyteller.net, the largest Storytelling Resource on the Internet, presents an evening of storytelling for adults and teens on November 18, 2006. There is no charge for the 90 minute performance held at the Borders Store at 10100 W McDowell Road in Avondale. Tellabration is the national night of storytelling, with Tellabration events held throughout the United States as well as many locations throughout the world. The Tellabration is a program coordinated by the National Storytelling Network based in Jonesborough, Tennessee. This Avondale event will be one of hundreds of storytelling events taking place simultaneously throughout the Arizona and the rest of the country.
"Its fun to be able to participate in the national Tellabration this year as part of our regular monthly Storyteller.net @ Borders night we have on the third Saturday of the every month. This is just one more way were continuing to reach out to the community with some of the best in adult-level storytelling," states Sean Buvala, the Director of Storyteller.net. "Its really been our goal to bring this age-old aft form to the West Valleys performing arts events. Weve had a very positive year of storytelling and look forward to continuing into 2007 as well."
The evening program, like all of the "Storyteller.net @ Borders" events, is geared toward adults, teens and tweens.
The tellers who are scheduled to appear at the Avondale Tellabration include:
Glenda Bonin, a full-time teller from Tucson, who just finished a national tour telling stories across the United States.
K. Sean Buvala, a nationally travelled storyteller and storytelling coach, who has worked with audiences for more than 20 years.
"Brother Sun and Sister Moon," (Steve and Theresa Ferreira) tandem-style tellers who have recently settled into the Valleys Spoken Word scene after a long and varied career as storytellers on the East Coast.
Bonnie Angster, a longtime Sun City resident, who in July 2006 received the distinguished Southwest Regional Service award from the National Storytelling Network.
Carri Knarr, a full-time history teacher in Chandler who was featured recently as a Regional Teller for the Mesa Storytelling Festival.
Also featured are Harriet Cole, Penny Clark and Elly Reidy, experienced tellers from throughout the Valley of the Sun.
