The Southbay Storytellers and Listeners is hosting its third annual Winter Workshop and Story Swap on Saturday February 14, yes, Valentines Day, at the Palo Alto Friends Meetinghouse. from 8:30 am - 4 pm.
This is a great opportunity for professional enrichment and for just hanging out with other storytellers. Fuller description follows.
Third Annual Winter Workshop and Story Swap Valentines Day Saturday, February 14, 2004 from 8:30 am to 4:00 p.m. Friends Meetinghouse, 957 Colorado Avenue, Palo Alto [Southeast of Oregon Expressway, between Louis and Greer]
\Southbay Storytellers and Listeners sponsors this one day workshop and swap to promote our art. However you may use storytelling, you will enrich your contacts within the telling community while developing your craft in a relaxed, comfortable environment.
\Come at 8:30 am and you will be rewarded with coffee, juice, and bagels along with registration, book browsing, and general schmoozing before the first swap of "Stories for Children" at 9 am. The first pair of workshops "The Company We Keep: Characterization in Storytelling" with Gay Ducey and "Making a CD" with Tom and Sandy Farley, will start at 10:15 am.
\We provide a picnic lunch with choices to meet most dietary needs. Books and recordings from Linden Tree and local tellers will be available for purchase.
\After lunch the workshops are "Voice and Acting for Storytellers" with Mia Lieberman and "Where Do You Find Such Great Stories?" with JC Cockrell. The final swap will, naturally, be "Love Stories." We expect to end about 4:00pm so youll be free to enjoy a romantic evening.
