Jim Woodard has presented hundreds of storytelling programs in California and in the Midwest -- for kids and adult groups. His stories are custom selected for each group. They typically include classic folk tales, fables, historical stories and biographical profiles of famous people -- great achievers who can now serve as positive role models.

Special entertainment-motivational programs are available for business and professional groups. Many of his programs are for groups comprised of kids and adults, such as those he continually presents at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in California.

Jim started his storytelling career when working as a counselor at Boys Town, Nebr. He received the top national award in the area of public communications from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge -- the George Washington Award for Excellence in Public Communications. This was primarily for his series of historic and patriotic storytelling programs. It’ the only such FF award presented to an oral storyteller

In addition to storytelling, he now writes a nationally syndicated column (about 230 newspapers) and freelance features on subjects related to real estate, business, oral storytellig and youth development.

Since he has long been a writer for media, he often prepares and submits news releases to appropriate editors regarding upcoming storytelling programs.

He’s an active member of the National Storytelling Network and is listed in the National Directory of Storytellers.

QUOTES from program sponsors:
From a business club chairperson ... "Your storytelling was definitely the best program of the year for our club."

From teachers ... "You had our students in the palm of your hand, as you did me. I wish you could have heard all the accolates the children gave to your storytelling -- comments like ... `He was so enthusiastic’ ... `He had so much expression." "When children come out of an assembly arguing which part was best, you know you have a winner.

The teachers were unanimous in their praise about your storytelling."

From a youngster ..."I really love your stories. Even though you’re not here today, your stories are still singing in my ears. I hope you never die, because you’re the best storyteller in the world."
