Amphitheater with Harlynne Geisler
With: [website]

We’ve known Harlynne Geisler for a long time and recently we had the opportunity to sit down with her face to face, in her home in San Diego California. In what is now the longest interview in the Amphitheater history, we cover many great topics.

This is a very casual interview, complete with the sounds of airplanes and birds chirping, it’s as if you are sitting at the kitchen table with us. We hope you enjoy this fun and very informative interview.

Part One: Harlynne’s background and how do you new tellers overcome the "I want to do that, but I can’t do that...yet."

Part Two: Learn about Harlynne’s Story Bag Newsletter. You can also see it here at storybag.for-kids.com

Part Three: What’s it like to make the plunge to being a "pro" teller? "I was scared to death."

Part Four: We talk about Harlynne’s book, Storytelling Professionally. What should you never do? What things make up the pro’s integrity?

Part Five: We talk about how teller’s might set fees for events and resources for tellers.

Part Six: We discuss choosing stories for different grade levels in schools and libraries.

Part Seven: How do you treat your pre-show audience? How do you connect to your audience?

Part Eight: What is your advice to new tellers? No, this is not Actors’ Studio, unless you really want it to be. (giggle) Why isn’t there ice tea in southern California? What’s on her website?

You can listen to this interview free of charge. Find the eight links towards the bottom of the page.
